Hormones And Happiness.

For years, science has proven that depression and anxiety are linked to what is going on INSIDE of our brains. Doctors and scientists call it an imbalance. There are many people that are affected by these chemical imbalances. We all have seen those commercials from pharmaceutical companies offering their newest, greatest, and expensive quick fix. We ignore all the side effects of it and run out to our doctor for a new prescription. This has led to over-medicating or lack of communication with professionals which could in turn be the culprit of the rise in suicide rates. Rates are up in a recent study from the CDC. What if there was something natural to help? Something that BIG BOX pharma knows will help, but they still prey on our weaknesses and tempt us with these costly quick fixes?

We all want to be happy and we all want our bodies running in tip top shape. Let's take a minute and look at something... Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that acts in the pathway for the REWARD-MOTIVATION behavior. Basically, this little hormone helps with memory, focus, and pain relief. Oxytocin is known as the love hormone and is used in all sorts of ways but, this bad boy can certainly liven things up under the sheets-- if ya know what I'm sayin'. Oxytocin creates a happy and "in love" type of environment in our brain. Why do you think it's so easy to say "I love you" after a roll in the hay??

Serotonin and low levels of this have been linked to depression. Since this hormone contributes to well being and happiness, it's considered the happy hormone. Endorphins are a mixture of hormones in the brain that act on creating an elevated mood. Just like Elle Woods says "exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy, and happy people don't kill their husbands." Thank you Elle for your inspiration to get UP and get MOVING. I don't know about you but I want every single one of those DOSE (dopamine, oxytocin, seratonin, and endorphins) hormones in check. I want to have my brain chemically balanced all naturally without big box pharm making a dime off my "issues". While I understand that sometimes we have severe imbalances,which can take professional help, I also know that creating homeostasis (natural balance) in my brain is something I can do on my own.
